After we receive your application, you will receive a call for a phone interview to help find the best volunteer assignment fit for your interest and availability. 

Before you are scheduled in your regular volunteer assignment you will complete orientation, position specific training and must successfully pass a background check, health screening, and demonstrate ability to perform tasks of assigned service area.

TB screening is required for all hospital volunteers initially and annually thereafter. There is no charge for this test if it is administered by the Salinas Valley Health Employee Health Services Nurse. You will also be asked to provide your immunization records. If you have a history of positive skin test results, Employee Health Services will request a baseline chest X-ray and annual "signs and symptoms" questionnaire.

If you are under the age of 18, please have your parent or legal guardian fill out the following form: For Spiritual Care Volunteers, please download the following form and turn it in after having the appropriate authority fill it out: For Pet Therapy volunteers, please be aware that you will need to provide proof of your pet's TDI Certification. If your pet is not TDI Certified, a volunteer services representative can inform you on how you can get your pet TDI Certified your pet.
